March is one of our favorite months of the year to fish for redfish on the flats in Carrabelle, Florida. The water is warm and the fish are active. Look for areas with good water circulation and plenty of baitfish. Use live shrimp or crabs for bait and fish around docks, pilings, and oyster beds. You can also have good luck on flies and soft plastic baits if you are looking to get fish on artificials.
As the water starts to warm up over the next month or so, we’ll start hunting tripletail and cobia.
